'Attended Saturday's Pittsburgh Craft Collective "letterpress demo & studio visit" at Sapling Press where we hand-printed some predesigned Valentine's Day Cards. Die-cut the envelope liners on a Heidelberg windmill letterpress, printed the cards, trimmed them with a scary cutting-machine, scored them down the middle, and cut the rounded corners with some other machine. It was pretty cool (although slightly overcrowded with 30 attendees).

I love the indentations left on the back of letterpressed items...

I chose the girliest envelope color combinations possible.

Lately there's been an onslaught of larger more arts-and-crafts oriented necklaces in the modern craft world (by "modern craft world" I mean not hideous grandma sweaters). They're mostly doable by the average crafts-enthusiast, but I'm fascinated by the incorporation of needlework and grandma crafts into something newer and more modern. Granny chic?

So what do you get a good friend from university who likes to buy all your friends calendars? Throw pillows with all your closest friends' faces on them, of course!

Never mind. These are just awesome on their own.

Materials
Object to Print on (I use 16"X16" throw pillowcases, tutorial here.)
Iron-On Inkjet-Printer Transfers (I do not recommend JuneTailor brand transfers, try something from an office supply store instead)
Iron, etc.
An image to print/transfer (I trace photos in Adobe Illustrator to make these nifty illustrated versions of my friends)

Instructions
Essentially, just follow the directions on the iron-on transfer package.
