The 'Winging It' Tour of Pittsburgh

The parental unit was in town again, but I decided to do a much more relaxed version of the weekend tour of Pittsburgh. That is, I hadn't made any plans at all. Everything still turned out okay. It always does, doesn't it?

I think this is a brilliant photo, but no one else seems to agree with me.

There were these Nationality Rooms for Father's Day, and seeing Pittsburgh from atop the Cathedral of Learning. While the audio tour isn't necessarily the most riveting of monologues, at least the classrooms themselves are quite interesting. It really is sort of nifty to see so many styles of countries' architectures in such a short span of time.

Afterwards, we paid a visit to the Church Brew Works, because who doesn't like beer vats in a retired church altar? ...or 'untraditional' pierogies?

We also somehow managed to fit in breakfast at the new Pamela's Upstreet Diner, trendy froyo, and a one-hour Gateway Clipper siteseeing boat tour. This way, we saw Pittsburgh both from the top of the Cathedral of Learning and from underneath, on the three rivers.

Overall, not as busy as last time, but still pretty eventful.
