日本: Twin Time

Hotel Niwa in Suidobashi, Tokyo

Fun fact: It is so, so easy to get hotel rooms in Japan with two twin beds, because Japanese couples are accustomed to having two separate futons on the tatami mat floor. They prefer two separate beds, because that's what they're used to.

At least this way, my Kindle and I each get our own bed (insert sad trombone sound here).

  1. Looks like a nice room. Can you get a double bed if you want one?

  2. Two separate twin beds seem to be common in European hotels, too! If you're a couple, you have to push them together. I guess it's easier on the hotel if their rooms are all suitable for friends as well as partners?

  3. Carolyn- You can still get a double bed, they just usually cost more and sell out faster. So. It's possible, just not probable!
