Half-Chalkboard Plant Markers

Chalkboard Plant Markers in Action

I wanted to try out this staining paint stencil approach on something, and I needed plant markers. So an idea was born.

It turns out, I didn't really like the effect of white paint, stained with Minwax Special Walnut, on cheap craftstore wood. So I painted the plant names on the plain side, half-covered the white paint work with some chalkboard paint, and moved on with my life. Now I've got some plant markers where one side has permanent names on them and the other side allows for some plant-changing with the chalkboard option. It works.

Plant Markers 0 - Paint, Stain, Seal

Plant Markers 2 - Paint Stamped Names (3x)

Plant Markers 3 - Chalkboard Paint Top Half of Back

Plant Markers 5 - Attach Stakes + Signs

  1. These are so cute! I could have used these when I planted seedlings this year, thinking "I'm only planting three things, of course I'll remember what's what", then proceeded to put the packets into my box of ~30 different types of seeds and forget. Womp.
