DWR:: Step 1: Cutting the Rectangles

Follow along as I make Free Spirit Fabric's Double Wedding Ring Quilt.

3. Cut 2.5" X 3.5" fabric rectangles for the arcs

Next up is to cut the rectangular pieces of the arcs.

If you're using 13 fabrics, you need 37 rectangles of each. If you're using 19 fabrics, then 25 rectangles of each fabric. If 18 fabrics, then 27 rectangles of each. About 4 1/3 yd is needed for the arcs, or 480 2.5" X 3.5" rectangles for the arcs. You'll need another 40 corner 2.5" squares in two extra colors to serve as the little corner squares.

(optional) Figure out ordering of fabric arcs, for even color distribution

When I'm done cutting the arc rectangles, I like to figure out the ordering of fabrics I'll use for the arcs, to get a good color distribution. You could also just pick the ordering at random.
