This weekend I stole this recipe for 'bannock' from First Class Great Outdoors (there's some more information on bannock, here). Only, we pan-fried the {1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 cup water} and added some sugar and dried cranberries. They came out like mini pancakes, minus the eggs and milk.
The ingredients are all dry, so you could carry them around with you backpacking, but it's really necessary to add something to the recipe (like dried cranberries), or you'll end up with mouthfuls of tastelessness.
Speaking of "mouthfuls of tastelessness," J says to only eat bannock boiled if you hate life.
Boiled cranberry bannock. Just no.
Thanks for visiting my blog! :) I'll have to try this, but definitely pan-fried. I am not a fan of mushy food, ha!
