These are not photos of Carnoustie. These are photos of St. Andrews, the birthplace of golf, because there is nothing to see in Carnoustie except another golf course that occasionally hosts the British Open. St. Andrews is far more interesting, despite the fact that I have been there before.
After leaving Edinburgh, we stopped at St. Andrews for lunch and to play miniature golf. Mini-golfing on a natural grass course is always an extra challenge and these greens were slow.
After spending one night at Carnoustie, we headed up towards the highlands, stopping at Pitlochry for lunch and a highlands distillery, Blair Athol, which does not export its single malt whisky to America. So, a unique find (quite the challenge, considering most whisky is produced for international export).
I have to share this with my hubs...to golf here is one of his dreams!!! Beautiful!!!
