Some apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap in a small bowl make a tremendous fruit fly trap. 'Just leave it out overnight, for a day or two. Bam!
Of course, I think having a dishwasher would also fix my problem.

Thanks for the tip! I'm definitely going to try this, especially now that I'm buying more fruit. Those fruit flies can be so pesky.
