Awhile back, I was worried about this white dust building up in my Turkish tea kettles. I tried scrubbing, but the white dust remained. A little Googling revealed something that the Brits (and any other self-respecting tea drinker) have known for centuries - the white dust is actually hard water deposits that can be cleaned by boiling some diluted white vinegar for a few minutes.
So. Yeah. Take this opportunity to check out your teapots and make sure they're nice and healthy on the inside. It only takes 15 minutes.
