Recently, one of the more sedately decorated Christmas houses I photographed last year made it onto a Yahoo! Editorial 'Extreme Holiday Decorations' gallery that was linked from the main Yahoo! page. The photo got over 30,000 hits in one day, and it's not particularly impressive.

There are many more heavily Christmas-decorated houses on the same street, and they all try to outdo themselves each year. Our family doesn't have very intense holiday decorations. I think there's something to be said for reducing your energy bill...

...although the "Christmas Streets" of the world serve their purpose too ;)
