Roscoe Dress Roscoe Dress

Prairie chic? This is my third in a batch of Roscoe blouse/dresses, so I finally got the sizing just right...and then I hacked the dress to be one I would actually wear.

True Bias Roscoe Dress size 10 (sized down by 2, graded out to a 12 for the skirt) with 1.25" added to sleeve length and reduced the v-neck by an inch. To make the elastic waist, I cut the pattern at the lengthen/shorten line and then added 1.5" seam allowance to the bottom of the blouse pattern pieces and top of the skirt pieces. After blouse and skirt pieces were assembled, I sewed them together with a 1.5" seam allowance, trimmed the blouse seam allowance to 3/8", folded the skirt seam allowance by 3/8", and then sewed this newly created elastic channel to the blouse. I am tall, so the lengthen/shorten line on the dress might not be the ideal placement if you're shorter. Before assembling the skirt piece, I cut out inseam pockets from my Dani Pants pattern, and attached them, so they would be secured to the waistband. The pockets are a little too high for putting hands into, but I mostly just need them to hold my phone and office keys. Fabric is a Joann Fabrics viscose from the 'Last Chance' shelves, that withstands wrinkling quite well.
