I'd been thinking a lot about French pastry just before my birthday this year, and so...all these French pastries that have been showing up on the blog, made their actual appearance at this little soirée! cannelés bourdelais made in 4 batches (which is saying something, since they each take 1:10 to bake!), madeleines (should've baked them last), browned butter gateau magique, rose meringues, and a chocolate almond pear tart.
