Recipe: J's Mom's Lasagna

J's Lasagna
Perhaps next time we might try putting some spinach into the layers, or incorporating ricotta. This is the lasagna J grew up with.

Ingredients
2 9x13 baking pans
2 lbs ground beef
2 boxes lasagna noodles (do not use the "easy" ones)
2 lbs mozzarella
8 oz Parmesan
2 large containers of classic prego sauce (use about 1 1/2)

  1. precook ground meat (until brown) and noodles (according to box, al dente)
  2. Repeat following steps until pan is full (~4 layers):
    • light layer of sauce
    • layer of noodles
    • layer of sauce
    • thin layer of meat
    • 1 layer mozzarella
    • sprinkle parmesan
  3. final layer: noodles + sauce + cheese
  4. - Can be refrigerated at this stage (overnight, until needed), or move on to cooking! -
  5. preheat oven to 350F
  6. cover pan in foil
  7. bake for an hour (check at 45 minutes) at 350F

I can never turn down lasagna. I have a great recipe for a vegetarian version!
