I made Vanilla Rum Meringue Cookies this weekend with my new hand mixer and they actually came out edible! I won't post a photo though, because the lack of star-icing tip, plus a little browning in the oven made the cookies look rather conspicuous. They were tasty and quite styrofoam-like.
Overall, it's definitely worth doing again, but I'll try peppermint meringues next time and avoid browning them too much.
