What once was four yellow onions is now 1.5 cups caramelized onions, divided, and stored in the freezer for future bean usage. YAS!
I followed basic recipe for caramelized onions from SomethingNewForDinner. Basically: cut, saute & stir for 1+ hours. De-glaze once or twice, as needed. Here's the 10 minute by 10 minute break down:
