You'll need...
Assuming fabric about 44" wide and a quilt that is 60" square.
~1/3 yd in grey 1
~1/2 yd in greys 2, 3, and 4
~1/6 yd in accent colors 1, 2, and 3
~1/3 yd in accent color 4
~1 2/3 yd in background color
Note: If you do the accent colors with more than one fabric, as I did, you won't need quite as much of accent color 4. Although, the fabric needs to be cut at least 6" wide (i.e., at least 1/6 yd).
You'll cut...
The 5.5" squares will end up being 5" finished while the 6" squares will turn into 5.5" half square triangles.
6x 5.5" squares in grey 1
4x 6" squares in grey 1
9x 5.5" squares in greys 2, 3, and 4
6x 6" squares in greys 2, 3, and 4
3x 5.5" squares in accent colors 1, 2, and 3
2x 6" squares in accent colors 1, 2, and 3
6x 5.5" squares in accent color 4
4x 6" squares in accent color 4
32x 5.5" squares in the background color
32x 6" squares in the background color

lovely. while visiting a friend in Canada, she taught me how to make quilts. years ago. would love to do another one. but I don't have the space. or the tools. and no one to actually quilt the whole thing in the end...
I love the one bright square on the quilt and how it's surrounded by neutrals! I wish I had your patience quilting, I started one probably 10 years ago and have one square very nicely done. :)
