Holiday Travels

If you want a white Christmas in California, you have to drive to the snow, which is exactly what J and I did for our sixth anniversary at the beginning of the month. South Lake Tahoe is only a few hours' drive from where we're based, which is quite doable for a weekend. We took the gondola up to Heavenly Ski Resort for its lovely views, won cotton candy from the kids' arcade in the local casino, went sledding at Adventure Mountain, and made s'mores at our oh-so-trendy motel's gas campfires.

It was a really lovely weekend. We're so lucky to live so close to so many fun escapes.
