House Painting: Exteriors!

House Exterior Painting - After - Front House Exterior Painting - Before - Front
While getting everything else fixed up around here recently, I also decided to get the house a much-needed exterior paint job. The main house is Sherwin Williams white right out of the can, the shutters are SW Anchors Aweigh and the doors are SW Distance, for a gentle pop of denim blue/periwinkle. Would've gone with blue on the house body, but it seems all the houses around me are getting painted blue!

House - adding shelves to guestroom closet House - adding shelves to guestroom closet
With the craft room having snazzy new floors and organized storage, I figured I'd install some wire shelving to the closet for even better craft access! So, here we are!

I didn't stop with the bedroom, also included the guest bedroom which previously received some upgraded craft storage, but now we've got nice floors, too! The same Bruce Hydropel Natural Hickory 7/16 in. T x 5 in. W Waterproof Click Lock Engineered Hardwood Flooring as in the bedroom, was also extended to the hallway as well.

Still more floors to redo! Onto the upstairs, with the bedroom! I haven't done a whole lot to this room since I first purchased it, so I suppose we can consider this the first big upgrade! Just needed 32 boxes of Bruce Hydropel Natural Hickory 7/16 in. T x 5 in. W Waterproof Click Lock Engineered Hardwood Flooring to do it!

Downstairs Bathroom Floors Replacing

Replacing Upstairs flooring in downstairs bath - done Replacing flooring in downstairs bath - before
While we're in the habit of discussing replacing/refinishing the floors in this house, let's hire someone to slap some Luxury Vinyl flooring over the seriously dated, yellow flooring in the downstairs bathroom. It's come a looooong way since I first purchased the house! This is the Lifeproof Grandview Marble 22 MIL x 11.9 in. W x 23.8 in. L Click Lock Waterproof Vinyl Tile Flooring, and I needed about 3 boxes of it.

Bathroom Ceilings - After Bathroom Ceilings - Before

Gotta follow that previous glamorous post on hardwood floor refinishing with yet another small project that desperately needed doing. Getting the hole from the ceiling leak (roof since replaced) replaced, as well as the peeling hallway ceiling tiles. Looks so much better!

Hardwood Floors - threshholds Hardwood Floors - threshholds

Getting some much needed work done on the house. Refinishing some beat-to-heck hardwood floors! They look so, so much better. But it's hard not to!
I even used the miter saw to cut some shoe moulding for the dining room, which just didn't have it before (likely due to having unfinished carpet when we first moved in).

Kitchen Renovation - Done
Kitchen

A few steps happened since the lower cabinets were installed in the kitchen nook. Specifically: holes in the floor evened out; new, chevron luxury vinyl plank flooring from LifeProof in Canopy Tree; a wood threshhold lavender paintwashed, stained, and oil polyurethaned to match (approximately); the little folding table next to the stove was also paintwashed, stained, and polyurethaned; doorway trim was reinstalled; made a little coffee maker cover.

Kitchen Renovation - Done The Kitchen in its natural state, before removing everything

Oh, and we finally built, painted, polyurethaned the upper cabinets! And paintwashed, stained, and polyurethaned giant open shelving! And added a bit of [removable] crown moulding. The uppers are Benjamin Moore Advance satin in Chantilly Lace, like the uppers in the rest of the kitchen. Interior is oil polyurethaned like the lower cabinets in the nook along with more soft close hidden hinges. Hardware is Sumner Street High Desert which I oil polyurethaned a few times to keep them from peeling (because that matte black finish does not want to stay!).
