We traveled by train/bus to Granada, where we met up with the remaining three members of our party. Our first meal as a group of nine was at amazing restaurant with a view of the Moorish palace of Alhambra. The following day, we were able to visit the palace (reserve tickets waaaaaay in advance), and encountered EVEN MOAR Moorish tiles! EVEN MOAR beautiful gardens! EVEN MOAR beautiful sweeping views of a city nestled into a valley below. There are aesthetic benefits as well as strategic benefits to placing castles atop mountains and cliffs.
