The previous post lauds the new project fleece I bought...and herein we discuss processing & spinning a fleece by hand. By this point, I've already scoured the fleece and sorted it into six gradients. For the Tour de Fleece I tackled a chunk of this project one day at a time. I began with Gradient 3, then 2, 1, 4, 5, and 6. So each gradient was hand-carded into rolags, then spun into 3 plies, then plied, washed & dried before moving on to the next gradient in the series. This was largely due to a limitation in bobbins! Ideally, you'd card all the gradients, then spin all the plies in random order to create a more consistent yarn. But I think these came out alright anyways!
